found this board march 26, consult on april 11, op today (april 27)..

man was i nervous but there was no reason to be..that time when your in your gown waiting to be called is the most nerve wracking...

when they put you under, it's like you blink and next thing u know u are in the recovery room...

follow up is next tuesday, i can't take the tensor bandage off or so they said, did anybody take it off to put on another one? i want to see what it looks like but i can wait till tuesday for that, i'm more worried about having to change it and how necessary that is...

Bambu, i went to walmart to find a velcro tensor like you bought, no luck...

chest is sore now, wouldn't say it's bad pain, but definitely sore and something u can feel, the T3's should take care of it, how long is it sore for usually?

what's the best way to bathe yourself? just a sponge or wet towel for the first couple days, but how about after that, same thing?

hehe... good stuff.

;)

Just use a wet towel, you wont be clubin' for a while anyway !

I took the off about 5-6 days after the op. Then showered normally.

Soreness last around 3-4 days. But you still feel something for at least 2-3 weeks...

did he say anything about you taking the foam pads off or did you put them back and pretend  like you never touched them?

i think Bambu was saying something about the dr wasn't happy that he took of his bandage or the pads..

where you at Bambu, this is typical of this board, before surgery and right after people are really involved, than it tapers off, than you don't see them again...come back!  ;D

It seemed to me, could be wrong though, that JCF was a bit PO'ed about the fact that I took the pads and tensor off. He then made a note of the fact in his note book.

My how quickly you are to judge my man!  :P

Dude... I'm here and never left.  ;)

I work 12 hour shifts - 7:30am to 7:30pm ( days ) and 7:30pm to 7:30am ( nights ). 3 on ( days ), 2 off, 2 on ( nights ), 2 off, 3 on ( days ) etc.... etc.... Every other weekend I have to work. That is the 3 days on, Friday to Sunday, alternating days and nights. One weekend days and the other nights. So you see, I have a crazy mixed up work schedule that makes me feel like I have constant jet-lag. Some days I am so beat that I have a bite to eat, and then crash.

You should try it :-/. The worst part is working 3 nights in a row ( Fri, Sat and Sun ), sleep part of Monday, Tuesday only 'real' full day off and still a tad messed up from working the night shift, then having to go in for Wednesday morning on the 'day' shift.  :o:o:o

So, if you don't see me around for a few days, this is why....   ;)

Ya gotta learn to chill Dude....

John.

That's 6 weeks. Not bad for a specialist! I had to wait 7 weeks from consult to surgery.

BTW Toronto, didn't you manage to scoop up a cancellation? Or was that someone else?

John.

You sure did!

You are 5 days Post-Op now... How you doing? Much pain? How is your arm flexability?

John.

pain was never really that much..first night was the worst (wouldn't say it was unbearable pain, more like discomfort, the t3's took care of it)..

arm flexibility is improving every day...mildly sore now...haven't looked under the tensor yet..haven't touched it since the surgery...

it's getting itchy..and i remember sometimes my nipples  would feel itchy with the gyne (my nips were really puffed out before)...so i'm paranoid it's grown back already and that's why i'm itchy..i know it's not true, but paranoia doesn't listen!

showering has been the biggest pain of this whole ordeal...basically i cut holes in a garbage bag and put it on like a shirt so the tensor doesn't get wet....i can than shower my lower body..

going to go buy the same velcro tensor you have tomorrow...thanks for the tip and the detailed directions in the other post..

GARBAGE BAG!  Now why didn't I think of that...

I think I'm gonna give that a shot.. I can't stand the thought of sponge bathing. ....
