Going for the operation next month and didn't want to tell anyone what I am doing or where I've been when I come back. What excuses have the guys that have had the operation used for being so tender?

Not had my op yet but you could always say you have been hitting the gym really hard! Have you ever done a really hard chest routine after having a long lay off? Hurts like hell and can do for days!!! That may be a bit short lived though I suppose. Could you tell people you cracked a rib or something?

You  can say you have a muscle injury. That explains the support vest too. Even better it isnt even a lie, though Ill bet you youre not as sore as you think youll be and that no one notices anyway.

yeh that has crossed my mind as an excuse, even wondered if there was an op for my rib that I could use as an excuse. I work in a place that is 90% or more men and if word got out I'd be easy meat

I used fracturing my ribs falling which helped me explain the compression vest.

Just try to hide the wounds until they are healed.

I aslo used the weekend away excuse and even took photos to help with the story (went to spain for the operation).

So far only one person knows although one other person suspects because of the change in my appearance but suspecting and knowing are two different things

Had my op last week, told nobody about it.  Told my family I was going to a friends for a couple of days, hoped on a plane to Polans, got it done and flew back.  Surprised my family when I got back by showing them.  Have told nobody else and wont either.  I feel absolutely fine, returned to work this monday as if nothing has happened.  Its exactly as if nothing has happened!

No one but my wife knows. We told people we were off for a week's vacation. When returning to work, I wasn't sore any more.

if its the subject of leg pulling, you could always just come out with it, tell them it was a medical condition that required surgery and that they should feel ashamed for everything theyve said. worked for me on a couple of people, theyve been really sheepish since :)
