Hello!

I'm 19 years old and I will start with saying that my fat-muscle ratio is way off. I have a lot more fat than muscle because of my lack of exercise throughout my whole life. I will also say that i have recently dropped 60 pounds only through a starvation diet so I have lost even more muscle. It's very easy to move the "breasts" around it feels like jello, unlike the female ones I have encountered in my life. When i lay down on my back they disappear totally and the "breasts" are like on the side of my body or back.

Specs.

Age: 19
Weight: 218lbs (99kg)
Height: 187cm

Standing normally:

Picture holding the breast up, showing that it's only fat?

Yes.

It would be unusual for there to be fatty tissue only. The usual situation is that both fatty and glandular tissue exist but the relationship of the two can be highly variable. I would expect one of the surgeons to respond soon. Surgery would be the only way to reduce your breasts.

Thank you for your response, it means a lot to me!

I've read a lot about the matter and my nipples are fairly small for having Gyno, also i never felt my breasts being sensitive in any was, the contrary actually. I Only got these breast when I really went up in weight, this was when i broke my leg in the age of 16. Before that my chest was perfectly fine, those that fit in with the description of Gyno?

Is there any way of being 100% sure I have gyno? Will visiting a normal doctor be able to see this or will I need to talk to a specialist?

To be sure, depends upon how you define Gynecomastia.

The generally accepted definition here is any surplus of tissue in the breast area.

Some people try to distinguish between what they call true and Pseudo Gynecomastia. The former being made up of glandular tissue and the latter being fatty (or adipose) tissue. This seems a fools errand to me as the usual situation is that there are both. It would be rare to find only one type of tissue and the total exclusion of the other.

A few years ago, I heard of one Doctor who would not use the term Gynecomastia unless there was some kind of pathology present. This is not often the case. I suspect this narrow definition is not at all common.

The Term Gynecomastia seems to have originated with the Greek Physician Galen. As he used the term it would have included only contoured breasts and probably not what we now call puffy nipple Gyne.

Finally, there is a large segment that says the condition is essentially self diagnosed. In other words: If you say you have it, then you do.

In your situation, 1) You think you have it. 2) There is obviously some surplus tissue there. 3) There is some contouring of the breasts. By at least three different definitions you have it.

Be patient, I'll bet one or more of the surgeons will respond before too long.

In the short term, there are a number of compression vests and shirts that will help conceal the condition. The anonymity of the site allows us to be quite open here so you can feel free to ask pretty much anything you like. Forgive me for not properly welcoming you when I first responded to your post.

Yeah you have gynecomastia. There are plenty of of people here who can point you in the right direction for surgery and plenty of people who have accepted it and some people who appreciate it. You are in the right place. This forum has and continues to help me out a lot.

Definitely gynecomastia man! You need surgery for sure. Would say you have a severe case and I think the surgeons on this forum will agree. Hope you continue to loose weight to feel better and healthier and do the surgery if it will make you happy!
Take care

The posts on this thread have been good.  Your problem appears to be a significant amount of excess skin (chest and belly) due to rapid (starvation) weight loss.  You should try to build up some muscle through exercise, weight lifting and see if you can lose some more chest wall fat at the same time.  I'm not saying that you don't need surgery, because you probably will ultimately.  But it would be good to see your skin envelope shrink down some more over time as you build muscle and lose more fat. Your final result will be much better.  Try that for awhile and let us know how you're progressing with updated photos.

There is absolutely no harm to doing exercise.  But what you have left, after significant weight loss, is breast tissue, not fat -- and it will not disappear except with surgery.
