Right im really wanting some expert advice here, ive got some keloid scaring which isnt like disastrously bad but its definatley noticeable under light etc. So after massaging like mad ive decided to opt for keloid treatment the treatment ive been offered is at a very good price with a top surgeon and is £100. He uses "adcortyl"

ive asked the practice manager who knows what shes talking about, but id like some opinions from you guys

1/ MOST importantly. what side effects could i be left with could it get worse?
2/ Crater deform? ive got nothing now but im worried about a big lump of scar tissue dissapearing will my skin cave in
3/ im having this done not with my original surgeon, but with another top surgeon do you think this will lead to complicatiosn
4/ how quick will i see results
5/ does it hurt. and do you apply multiple injections in different scar locations
6/ how many sessions should it take
7/ when will i see results

Thanks alot guys
Cheers

Cortisone injections are the routine treatment for keloid or hypertrophic scars.  Most larger scars (raised, wide, itchy) are hypertrophic scars.  True keloid scars look like a tumor that is growing outside of the bounds of the original incision -- these are rare.

If you go to a surgeon who is skilled in the use of cortisone, then you should get good results.  The shots can be painful -- so be prepared. It takes about a week to see some changes and approximately 4-6 weeks for the results of the shot to be complete.  If things have improved but are not what you want, then you may need additional shots.
