Just flicking through some of the topics on the forum, I've seen it mentioned a couple of times that the supplements body builders take can cause puffy nipples or gynecomastia.

Can anyone give me some more info on this?

I've developed puffy nipples in probably the last 1-2 years, when I started really getting into the gym and weight lifting. I've been using whey protein, drinking loads of milk, and recently taking nitric oxide supps. Would any of this have caused my puffy nipples? People are starting to comment when they seen them through my t shirts.

I don't think those supplements would do it. I think the development of glandular tissue is caused by hormones. I'm no expert but I don't see how whey or milk could do this. Not sure how NOS works though.

i think its more of the anabolic steroids that body builders take rather than supplements that can cause the genecomastia.

I have seen gyne develop in men who only took "supplements."  The problem with supplements is that they are not regulated and may contain some ingredients that may have hormone-like effects.  The average guy (and most docs) will not know.

What is wrong with just eating a healthy diet -- and take a protein shake if you feel you need it?
