I have a problem, an obsessive problem, of checking my chest throughout the day. Poking, pressing, but not twisting or trying to stimulate. It's all in my head. I can't walk by a mirror without touching or looking at my chest. I don't want what it is I keep looking for, I know what it feels like, but it's an obsession.

Is it possible to make a minor case even worse by doing this?

I have treated several patients who had developed increased nipple size from repeated pinching of the nipple, and two of them were quite clearly caused by this, as they were unilateral on the side the patients said they pinched.  Just touching, however, will not cause this to happen.
