It's really no big deal.  Those people see a lot worse than what you've got.

Go on...  Do it and report back to us!  ;)

Yeah, I was nervous too.  I was like... "I have gyno...co..maaa" (wasn't sure how to pronounce and was probably the first time I uttered it out loud!).  The receptionist quickly finished the word for me and we were off.  She talks about it all day, and you could tell it was no big deal to her.  I was comfortable from then on.

A way to make it easy is to pretend you are calling for someone else!

Yep, making 'The Call' is the toughest part.

However....

What is worse?  A five minute phone call, or living the rest of your life with Gyne? It's your call...  ( no pun intented there dude  ;) )

I wasn't nervous at all.

The desire to rid myself of Gyne after living with it for 31 years purddy much took precedence.  ;)

  • Wilma, grab the lotion, we're going to the beach!
The call was easy for me too. I was so excited that I could actually get this fixed that I got a little impatient and called and scheduled appointments with 3 different PS's.

I made the call and it was fine despite me making an idiot out of myself

I phoned at 8.45am and got no answer so didn't leave a message. I got a call at 9.15 from my consultants wife/secretary (who'd obviously checked who had called on her missed call facility) saying "Did you call"?

I said; "Yeah, sorry were you in bed?" (Dunno why I said that, I meant "Hope I didn't wake you"

She said "No" rather icily (understandably!)

I then said; "Ok, Can I have an appt with Mr XXX re: gynecomastia"

She said; "Yes, of course" (Like it was the most normal thing in the world - which for her it is) and then booked me in and gave me all the details and was very helpful/pleasant

So if my call can go so well after a bad start anyone's can!

Do you have to say why you're calling? Can't you just ask for an appointment with the docter and end it there?
