I am now 26 days post op.

On each of my nipple, I have 2 plastic wires sticking out. 1 on top of the nipple and 1 underneath. At first I thought it was stitches...but after 26 days they are still there and was just wondering...

you guys have any ideas ?

look kind of like fishing line? they are stitches.  or "sutures"  Its surprising that the doctor or nurses haven't cut them for you at this stage. I have the same thing and they cut the ends off at around the end of week 1 post op.  I guess they might just fall off eventually when the part thats in your body gets absorbed.  No need to worry

Gorn is right.  Those are suture knots that have "popped" through the skin.  And they feel like fishing line.  You can snip them with manicure scissors (I know you own some of those  :D ) or wait until they fall out.  But I know they're irritating.  Sometimes the skin around them turns red.

Well, we had the same PS and had the surgery done on the same day...so I guess it's two weeks for me too.

Btw, what exactly do you mean by snip...pull it off ? Wouldn't that hurt ?

How does snip imply pulling?  ???
Just cut it off with a small, clean, sharp pair of scissors.  Don't pull anything...

Be careful not to snip ( cut, not pull... ;) ) off your nipple...   ;D

Now that would hurt!   :o :o :o

LOL too late ! I pulled them off on both nipples this morning. No pain, it came off pretty smoothly.
