Does anyone have tips on what weight machines in the gym can be used starting 2nd and 3rd week after surgery. Which ones are sure not to strain the muscles in the surgery area.

I am guessing the sitting leg curl, leg press etc may be ok.

Also, Is the bike better than the treadmill for cardio? seems like the treadmill would create movement in the chest once you get it to 3-4mph.

I plan on using the bike for my usual cv workout after my bandages come off in the 2nd week.

I too am finding the bike less stressing at this point.

The bad part is only the treadmills come with their own personal lcd tvs in my gym so I am tempted to do that. Treadmills tend to cause more movement in the op area though.

Just take it easy and if you feel that your chest is being too stressed then forget it go on the bike. At the end of the day your 1st priority is to let your chest heal properly so forget watching TV!
