Just got it done on wednesday, mostly tissue, some fat. Lots of fluid.

also my surgeon didn't say anything about a vest... let me call him.

i would say that you probably need a vest.  That is what keeps the swelling/fluid down.  I wore a vest for 3 weeks 24/7 and then went for a follow up.  The doc pulled about 25 cc's of fluid out of each side.  I went back 3 days later and he pulled about 2 cc's out.  I am to go back a couple more times and pull the fluid out again. Wearing the compression vest forces the skin to stay flat against the chest/muscle and create the flat chest that you are looking for.  I am extremely happy with my results thus far and i figure after 1 more week i will be done with compression vest and done with pulling fluid.  Definitely check with your doc about the vest b/c IMO i think it is a big part of recovery.

dark_nite, how's it going now? I think I read on another thread that your doctor drained some more fluid.

Hopefully things are much better since you posted this.

Hang in there!  Hopefully you will see the results you wanted.  I plan to go back for a second op.  guess my expectations were too high the first time.
