If you get 20 responses, they will likely all differ to some extent. Many people say that the gland is fibrous or perhaps a firm rubbery disc behind the nipple whereas the fat is softer but gives the entire breast a rounded contour.

In reality,  the truth is that there is usually both gland and fat. With fingers of glandular tissue extending into the fatty tissue.

Sometimes the fatty tissue can seem quite firm and conversely, the gland can sometimes seem rather soft.

Since the damage caused by gynecomastia is Psychological rather than physical; and the damage is the same in either case; What is the point in making a distinction?

Sometimes, even a skilled surgeon can be misled upon the physical examination of the breasts.

Should you opt for surgery, you'll know for sure only after the surgery is done.
