I'm 28 years old, 5'10", and 174 lbs.  I'm not large,  but I am carrying some extra fat across my abdomen, and assumed that was the same for my chest., but recently, my "moobs" have become very well defined cups that are centered near my nipples.  I have started trying to lose my excess fat, and I wonder if they may be related.  I know they're small, but I am trying to head things off before they get bad, in case I have true gyne.

I visited a GP today and he admitted he had little experience with gyne, but he drew blood for a hormone workup and is referring me and my results to an endocrinologist.

I recently had an infected varicocele that was treated with antibiotics at the beginning of the month, so I am also wondering about a connection with that.  Nothing I've read has indicated that a vericocele can cause hormonal imbalances.

I mainly just wanted an opinon of those on this board.  Does this look like "true" gyne, or something more fat related?

* a man is more than a body will ever tell
* if it screws up your life the same, is there really any such thing as "mild" gyne?

Looks like gyne, is it hard in there?

I guess really only a doc could tell you for sure.

Gynes just a word though.  Its only important if it bothers you.

Not that I like it, but it doesn't bother me that much like it is, I just don't want it to get worse.  I've been doing a lot of research on this site and others, and I've posed a question in the Gynecomastia Talk section I'd like some feedback on as well.

  • Wilma, grab the lotion, we're going to the beach!
I see it under the areola and near the armpit area.

nipples seem large in relation to the rest of your chest area, so my guess is that underneath is tissue there that could be excised. but only a doc could say for sure.

just curious, tho - do you feel any hard, fibrous tissue/lumps under the nipple at all? alternatively, you may just feel squishy fat, which is not to say that breast tissue isn't intermixed with the fat - that could be the case. however, one doc i saw mentioned that large nipples could be the result of a prominent case of gynecomastia during puberty, which could have diminished post puberty (and after all the crazy hormonal changes). even if there is no breast tissue, the gynecomastia during puberty could have left the nipples stretched
