I'm currently 15 days Post-OP. However, i was wondering as my next appointment is a week from now. Is it possible to partake in masturbation and/or sexual intercourse if not, when can i safely without risk of seroma/hematoma/excessive swelling? My significant other has been pestering me, just wanted a clearer answer for myself as well as her.

Thank you!

Most sexual activities result in elevated blood pressure (much like physical exercise) and the rise in blood pressure is the potential culprit.  It can produce a late hematoma and at the very least result in additional swelling of the chest.

Each surgeon has his own particular recommendations for post op activities.  I generally recommend nothing (see first sentence above) that will knowing raise one's blood pressure for about one month after surgery.  After that, one may resume everything.
