I have had dome shaped puffy nipples for about 5 years, I am 18, tired of waiting and want to get rid of it. I talked to a plastic surgeon and he said that the nipple (which has a greater diameter than it used to ), can be brought down from protruding as much but the nipple will have the same large diameter. I have read online that the nipple can shrink back down after the surgery. my question is which of these are correct? thanks

My nips decreased in size about 15% or so. I can def see the dif. If he does a good job they should shrink a bit when there's no pressure behind them. My .02 cents.

If you have puffy nipples, surgery can make them lie flat and flush with the surrounding skin.  As part of the procedure, the areolar diameter usually shrinks about 15-20%.

You can check this out by going to my gyne website (listed below) and look in the photo gallery for puffy nipples.  Check out the diameter change on patient 94 (a teen with gyne and puffy nipples).  You can also check out typical results for puffy nipples, starting at patient 167.

If you are thinking about surgery, please make sure you go to an expert in gyne surgery in your area -- do your homework!
