I've been to see 4 plastic surgeons.  The most impressive and experienced said that lipo would reduce it by 75%.  The remaining 25% from excision.  Even though lipo would remove 75% would this still result in unevenness?  The gland is concentrated more around the nipple while the fat is usually more spread.  I'm worried that if I got just lipo then it would make the gland around the nipple stand out more.  I understand that just by feeling the area it is difficult to determine the composition and sonograms are needed and that pictures are even harder to judge.  Despite that, I am wondering what you would go for from the pics?

Yes, lipo only would tend to make the gland stand out more.  It just depends on how aggressive the surgeon is with his lipo.

I don't even bother with sonograms or mammograms unless I consider something suspicious.  Otherwise, the decisions on what to do are made at the time of surgery, based on what is found clinically during the operation.

The pictures don't seem to load for me, but I'll second Dr. Jacob's motion.  I make the decision about excision at the time of the procedure, and as I've said before, I excise some tissue along with liposuction in 90 to 95% of cases.  Liposuction alone has left many a patient with persistent prominence of the nipples.
