Doctors,

Could you provide me 'proof' gynecomastia is real? I am suffering from a severe case combined with being overweight. I have now lost over 70% of the fat and I thought my parents would believe me that my breasts would not go away by itself. I am starting to think they do not want to help me pay for surgery. I tried telling them that tissue does not go away by its own and that female breasts will not go away if she does 100 bench presses a day but they are still stubborn about it.

I am looking for hard proof surgery is needed to take care of gynecomastia, especially my severe case.

Don't understand what you mean by "proof."

It would be best for you to see a surgeon for an examination.  If you are below age 18, you will need your parents to sign consent for surgery -- so why not have them scome with you for the exam?  And then the surgeon can explain everything about your condition -- to you and your parents.

Sorry for the confusion. I am just looking for an explanation from a doctor that describes what gynecomastia is, and that it's actually a real thing and surgery is needed to remove it. I am over the age of 18, but I feel my parents could help me finance it if they understood what gynecomastia really is and why surgery is needed. When I tell them that there's tissue in my breast, they insist it goes away because I am young and that my skin can still retract.

I would suggest you see a physician experienced with gynecomastia. As far as absolute proof and guarantees this is a medical issue and those terms just are not appropriate  to request a response from a physician .
