I take fish oil and multivitamins on a daily basis, Should this be stopped before surgery?
My surgery is in about 3 weeks.

Thank you

Fish oil may pre-dispose to more bleeding during and after surgery.  It should be stopped about a week prior to surgery.
Same goes for Aspirin and NSAIDS (Motrin, Advil, Aleve, etc).  Most surgeons will provide a list of medications to be avoided prior to surgery.

You should check with your surgeon regarding recommendations. As was stated fish oil which is high in vitamin E can increase bleeding during surgery. I recommend a multivitamin in my patients prior to surgery.
