Hi, I'm new here. I am 21 years old.

I have had a mild case of gynecomastia+puffy nipples since I was about 11 or 12. When I was seeing pediatricians during my teens their answer to the problem was "it will go away in time". its not pseudo gynecomastia. I'm not fat and I can feel the lumpy tissue in my chest

I just recently(a few months ago) switched to a general doctor. And she told me the EXACT SAME THING. I had her feel the tissue, and pointed out how much the puffy nipples bother me.

She said "You dont have gynecomastia, the puffiness will go away in time" my mind was blown

I said "...I'm almost 21 years old, I havent been in puberty for years, how will it go away"

"Just trust me it will go away."

I then asked her about Tamoxifen and she just reiterated "you dont have gynecomastia"

I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to do... any advice?

Do you have any pics to post? I would go to a Plastic Surgeon for a consultation. See what he says about your gyne. I would then recommend going to an endocrinologist and getting your hormones checked before deciding on surgery. Good luck man, keep us posted.

sorry the second pic sucks

I know it probably doesnt look THAT bad compared to some others. But the nipples do puff out, there IS tissue in there that I can feel with my own hands. I still have body fat im trying to lose(I just started seriously working out about 3 or 4 months ago and have achieved some nice muscle gains, my arms used to be half the size they are, and I will continue in hopes that some fat reduction will make the nipples go down.)

I would love to go talk to some specialists about it, but unfortunately I rely on my parents, my parents DO NOT believe that this is a problem, and told me that if the general doctor said it wasn't a problem than they wouldnt do anything. I have had both of them feel the tissue with their own hands, which, to say the least, was embarrassing and awkward

I cant see any gyne....and just because you have gland there doesnt mean you have the gyne...even after the op they leave some gland in anyway to stop your nipples caving in.

As for the doctors...they are probably used to seeing old guys with massive man boobs or really fat dudes...so its understandable that they are dismissing you.  The only doctor that will say you have it is a plastic surgeon.  Because its an easy $5-7k for him to correct your "problem"  ;)

Try losing a bit of weight. You can clearly see the marking of pectoralis major, and I'm sure a weightloss would benefit you alot.

I don't think the doctor was lying to you.  I think she was just lacking knowledge about the condition.

I agree with twin peaks. I think your doctor probably lacked education in the matter. I don't think LIE is the correct word here. Just lack of education and understanding.

While most cases of puberty gyne go away, some don't. If your 21 years old, then that tissue is there to stay until corrected by surgery. That is where your doctor lacks education.

Your case is minor from what I can tell from the pictures. But even a minor case can be bothersome to some men. And thats where your doctor lacks understanding.

Your not the first to have family that don't understand. We see that alot here.

You might try re-posting photos. This time include a photo that is about a 30 degree angle of the front and side of your chest. This type of photo will show others on this site what your condition is. Still, a photo cannot compare to what you personnaly feel wearing the moobs.

Bottom line: If it bothers you that much, then plan on having surgery with a competent gyno surgeon. You are young with good skin elasticity and a minor case. You should get great results.
