If i get surgery when can i go back to work (i`am a firefighter)?

you'll need to speak to your surgeon about his after care instructions. Many say that you can start some light physical excercise 3-4 weeks after surgery, but some differ. As a firefighter, I presume there's lots of heavy lifting and stuff, so it might be a little longer before you could do that..I'm no expert, so maybe one of the docs can add their opinion.

I usually ask that you avoid very strenuous physical activity for 3-4 weeks after surgery -- and then a gradual return to full activity as your body tolerates it.  You can return to sedentary duty (ie light or desk duty) usually within 3-4 days after surgery.

I felt good enough and did some moderate lifting at 3 weeks post op.

To much pain and discomfort weeks 1 and 2.
