I have been considering surgery for gyne for some time.  I'm mostly concerned about the scarring around the nipple where the incision would be.  I have been reading about MatriStem by ACELL; a regenerative medicine company.  What they're doing is quite interesting.  They can grow body parts and basically.... cause the body to regenerate where a scar may have formed instead.  If you look on their site, they have done things like grow back the tip of a mans finger, etc. 

Anyhow, to my surprise, Matristem is on the market in the form of these little strips that you could put on surgical incisions, burns, etc and have your body just fix itself where the damage was caused instead of creating scar tissue.  It's quite expensive, but it's really made my ears perk up.  If I have to get my nipples sliced open, maybe this product could be used for the scarring.

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone has used this or does anyone know of any plastic surgeon who does?  I'm not exactly sure how it would work, but this product has really made me more interested in finally getting it done if I don't have to end up with ugly scars on my nipples.

id always be wary about such claims when they want a lot of cash from you!
I would have thought if this system was so good, the technology would have been common practise in medicine by now.

No it's relatively new.  If you go onto their website, they have a bunch of videos.  Oprah, 60 minutes, etc.  I haven't spoken with a doctor about this at all but what they're doing is amazing.
