Hello Folks,

I'm new to this site and this is my first post. Can anybody help me in recommending a surgeon or solution to Gynocomastia in Ireland.
I have been to my GP and discusssed the matter with him a number of times and was then reffered onto an endocrinologist in Beaumont
Hospital in Dublin. I have no underlining conditions and was reffered onto a Breast Specialist who is also in Beaumont. It was at the latter
consultation that i got the distinct impression that the particular surgeon had very very little experience in opertating in this field. Can anybody
out there recommend a good surgeon or even a sucessfull experience from one of the private cosmetic clincs that appear to be everywhere these days.
I have both fat and glands so am concerned about opting for lipo alone, but i am at the stage that something must be done and fast!!!

Many thanks

i had the operation when i was 17 in st josephs under a Dr Eadie. she was recommended but i would be wary of her. she removed the gland tissue but i dont remember her removing any fat, also she never gave me a compression garment and when i went back for my post op check up and quizzed her about the saggy skin that was left, she told me to go home, lose some weight and come back and she would see about removing the skin!.
needless to say years passed and I didnt do anything about the skin, but I noticed there was still fat there. I decided this year to do something about it once and for all. went to a few places, river medical wanted to charge me 7000 to get the op which he said would involve lipo and skin removal. went to cosmedico (despite the bad news it recieved) and the doc there said to get just the lipo done (3500) as I already had the gland removed from the previous op. when I asked him about removing the skin, he reckoned there was only a 25% chace that I would have to following the surgery and proper aftercare (ie compression garmet, using bio oil etc) so that is what I opted for, its been 10 days now since that op, I am definitely smaller than I was, (they took 1 litre of fat out!) and the skin seems to be healing nicely, still unsure whether it will go back to a "normal" size or if Ill need removal, but he did advise waiting for a few months to see just how much had to be removed and thus minimize scarring. my advice to you is to research all the docs out there and dont be afraid to ask to see photo's of other before and after and how many procedures they have performed. take it from someone who had to get it done twice that if you can get it done right the first time your better off!! if you want to ask me any other q's just drop me a reply  :)
