i'm 54  do you think that's too old...this has always bothered me my whole life...def do not look my age   am very active  still think about hitting water parks still to this day  not wearing a shirt

You are never too old, in my opinion.  As long as you are healthy enough for surgery.  You make think you're too old, but think about 20 years down the line.  Do you want to wake up one day and think "Man I wish I would have gotten that surgery in my 50's.."
Live your life while you still have the chance to live it!

No, you're not too old, as long as you are healthy enough to undergo the surgery, and it sounds from your post like you are.  Many men at your age have pseudogynecomastia, which is essentially excess skin and fat on the chest wall, common in overweight, middle-aged men.  But you mention that you've had this a long time, so it's possible you have breast tissue as well as fat.  I would recommend evaluation by a board certified plastic surgeon with a lot of experience in gynecomastia surgery.  If you truly have longstanding breast tissue, IMO you'll need excision of the tissue along with liposuction.
