hello everyone

first i would like to thank previous posters on this board for contributing information regarding surgeons and hospitals in thailand. i have used this information to set up an appointment with dr. pommee out of bumrungrad and have also used this info as inspiration to continue on my search.

can anyone comment on what other hospitals and surgeons i should consider? yanhee? piyavate?

what i am mostly concerned about is the fact that many of these hospitals are more than happy to take a consultation and shuffle you to any doctor that is free on that day.

however i would like to see someone that has built up experience with the procedure. the closest thing to a specialist as is possible in thailand.

my goal is to see at least three surgeons with experience in this area. is this a worthy/realistic goal?

currently dr. pommee tells me that i run the risk of having too much excess skin on my breasts because of previous obesity from when i was younger. this has thrown a complicated variable into the operation that i would like to flush out with other surgeons' opinions.

of course, when i continue with the procedure i'll be sure to document what i go through with pictures and words.

one more piece of information as of May 2012, dr. pommee is charging 150,000 THB for the liposuction + excision. this does not include a 500 THB blood test from the hospital he informs me.

All

a little dissapointed. i am meeting with other gyne surgeons in Bangkok this week.

Dr. Pommee told me over email that he did not believe he was the right surgeon for me. He did not give me a reason even though I followed up and asked him why he thought this.

I felt a little put off by the initial consultation. He had only two sets of before and after images of past patients. I asked him for additional pictures through email after the consultation and receiving a message from him with available srugery dates. subsequently I got the message from him saying he didn't think he was the right one.

during the consultation i tried to ask as many open ended questions about the surgery and making the decision. he proceeded to say that for some people this is all in their heads, that others don't see the negative image that the patient has of himself. to further explain my motivation for having the surgery, i told him that it was not in my head and that i was tired of having girls tell me that my breasts are bigger than theirs. it was an admission i have not told my closest friends, he proceeded to laugh wildly. i was not amused.

internally i think that he thought i was asking too many questions.

i can't help but admit that the surgeon that has been rated positively a few times in this forum has rejected me for no good reason.  :'(

^^ that is very disappointing. it is your right to ask questions.

I also had a doctor before who told me that it's all in my head. but in reality, it is just an indirect way of saying that he can't handle my case.

until the day I met my doctor who was able to take out most of the glands on my chest.

search for another doctor...
