Looking for academic sources to cite for paper I am writing

My surgery was rejected by my provincial health plan, and so now I have to appeal that decision. I want to do so using academic papers and journals to make the argument that it is a legitimate medical and psychological problem. Any legitimate sources would be appreciated. Thank you.
