25 years old and a terrible experience

I just saw a doctor today to take a look at my gynecomastia which was more or less a waste of time.

First off, I sat in his office while he pulled up Google to show me pictures of "real" cases of gynecomastia. He assured me that it was simply a matter of losing weight and that if I truly felt I needed surgery to "get a job." He ended the assessment with telling me I'm still growing and that it will go away with weight loss.

Ok, what an insulting session. I've had this since middle school and I've been bullied for it. I've been working out consistently to reduce the condition but still the puffiness remains. I couldn't believe what I was hearing... I have a job. The worse thing about the entire experience was that he used google. He pulled up the first picture he could find of a horribly contorted and scarred chest and said that all his patients who have chosen surgery end up with a abnormal looking chest as a result.

Can anyone recommend a reputatable surgeon to me located in the Bay Area? Thanks. I'm at the point where I'd rather be in debt than deal with the emotional distress this has caused me.

It sounds like you may have been talking to a general surgeon and you would indeed be wasting his time and your money.  
Not all surgeons are equal,   A specialist would act a lot different.

Dr. Miguel Delgado, he's one of the top gynecomastia surgeons in the US.. I'm from los angeles and i had my surgery done by him a few days ago. He's in SF as well so lucky you!

He is definetly very expensive.. but if you have the money quality over price any day... this is your body

Could not agree more with the prior recommendations.  You do have puffy nipples and you are best treated by an experienced gyne surgeon -- and Dr Delgado is one of the best.

Too bad you had such a bad experience with the first surgeon -- chalk it up to a guy who doesn't really know what he is talking about.

@tc The doctor you mentioned does not know what he is talking about, completely forget about what he's told you. I am not from us so im sorry i cannot recommend a surgeon for you.
