Hello,
I am going for the surgery early next month.. Have spoken to my surgeon about the procedure.. Going to get it done under general..
Need advice.. As getting it done without parental knowledge , and with a friend with take care.. Doctor has told no that no major complication will take place.. But still is there anything that I need to ask my surgeon before going through the surgery ?

I believe surgery for gynecomastia in experienced hands is safe and effective. I would note complications can and do rarely occur there is no guarantee  that everything will go perfectly.

Totally concur with Dr. Pensler.  However, I would be careful about any surgeon who states that no major complications will occur.  Surgery is surgery and sometimes the unexpected (admittedly rare) can happen.

I would suggest you discuss with your surgeon what are the most common complications and the most rare complications.

While complications are uncommon they can still occur and should be part of the consultation process. If they should happen in your case it is 100%. Your surgeon should not be defensive if you ask to discuss these.

There are always the risk of complications or adverse affects with surgery. Either during the consultation or pre-operative appointment this matters should have been discussed in detail, and should have also signed paperwork acknowledging your consent to these potential risks. If not, it's reasonable to ask to come in to go over all of this and receive paperwork documenting the details.
You need to be well informed before you go through surgery.

While it is no substitute for the information that an informed and competent surgeon should provide you with at the time of your consultation, there are on-line sources that describe the procedure including potential complications that may occur, albeit rarely.  Even on this site and in this forum, there are many questions regarding the potential complications.  You would be best served to inform yourself with some reading, and then you can ask more specific questions of your surgeon when you meet.
Good luck.
