Who should I consult with in order to establish that a revision is necessary?

Hello,

So I had gynecomastia surgery, but need a revision. I am trying to get the insurance to cover it.

The remaining tissue bothers me in more ways than one.

Would this hold water? Can the gyne surgeon themselves certify that excision is necessary, or should I go through a primary care doctor first? Should I consult a psychiatrist and document that this is causing me depression? I want to make this airtight.

I hate to ask this, but it is an expensive procedure, and I've already shelled out $10K, so I am trying to manage the cost the best way I can.

You would be best off consulting with a gyne specialist in your area -- or consider traveling for that opinion.

I hate to be the bearer of ill tidings, but if your insurance company didn't cover the original gyne surgery (at least it is unlikely), then it usually will not cover any revision surgery. Most insurance companies will not cover revision of a cosmetic procedure.
