After having performed thousands of gynecomastia procedures, I can tell you that lipo and gland excision are required most of the time to get a good result.  And this can be painful -- local anesthesia doesn't cover the discomfort.  And if you are squirming in pain during the procedure, the surgeon cannot do his best work.  And finally, you want to do this only once and get it right.  Why put yourself through a fair amount of pain to save a few bucks or to be able to drive home by yourself??

I just wrote a blog for my website in which I discuss various types of anesthesia for gynecomastia surgery.  Check it out:  https://ww w.gynecomastianewyork.com/confused-about-anesthesia-for-gynecomastia-surgery
