Do glands shrink?

Im 15... almost 16.... and have puffy nipples. What does it mean when your breasts hurt? Am I correct in assuming that it is the growth of gyno?

Like I said, I am almost 16 and I cant recall feeling the pain since maybe I turned 15.  When people lose thier gyno through/after puberty do the glands shrink back down?
