Hey All,

Been looking at the site for a while and just joined up. It's been really helpful already, thanks.

Have a few questions...

1) is there a way to tell if you have fat vs. gland? I don't have defined lumps but more of a puffed out swelling. Asymentrical too, left is significantly larger.  Had some bloodwork done but my hormone levels came back normal according to the GP.

2) If its just fat, will cardio help out? Fat distribution is weird on me, skinny legs and arms but carry a bunch of weight in chests and spare tire.

3) Are the estrogen antagonists better for fat or gland or neither?

4) Is anyone on Propecia and if so have you noticed any changes in gyne?

5) Is soy a bad thing? Any other foods to watch out for?

6) Can you recommend any of the body building supplements like fat/carb/cortisol blockers or fat burning pills?

Thanks much guys,
I appreciate the help.

I have been viewing here for a while, and I keep seeing posts like the above asking if they have a problem...when they clearly do not.  Is it some sort of a sick joke? Dont mean that in a harsh way, but images like the above just make me feel even worse  :-/

The last thing I would want to do is make anyone feel bad about themselves.  Hope you don't think this was some act of vanity- like I needed to have some reassurance that my problem wasn't so bad after all.

My GP sent me for an ultrasound and a specialist referred me to a plastic surgeon. So - I kind of figured it was a real thing. Maybe pitures don't show so well but its something i have been self conscious about for a long time.

I've been through some of the embarrassing, hurtful stuff associated with this and feel like I've related to some of the stories here.

I appreciate the input and, seriously, no disrespect meant.

this guy doesnt have bdd. seriously dude i think ur just overweight. dont get lipo losing weight isnt that hard alot easier than earning the money u could spend on liposuction or whatever. start going to the gym and your problem should go away and if it doesnt you will still look better. my 2cents.

Yep Manic, that sounds more like it. I'm a graduate psych student and know about  body dysmorphism. Its pretty serious stuff.

The one thing that made me think of gyne is that the weight is largely one sided, on the left. Women's left breasts are usually larger in the left- almost a full cup size so at times.  Right side could be sub cuatneous fat as there is some rippling under the nipple but the left feels almost like its filled with fluid, weird.   have you ever heard of fat being deposited differently on one side of the body than on the other?
Thought that could be a sign of some hormonal imbalance.

Regardless, I've started excercise and hope that takes care of it.

thanks again to all who responded. I won't take up any more time here.

i'd normally say you didn't have it, but in the vertical pic your nip is visibly a little larger than normal, and if you notice a mass difference between sides, that's an indicator too, so that's why i don't think you're just being dysmorphic.  but like they say it could be lots worse.

1.  you kind of answered your own question
2.  normally no.
3.  don't know but assume it'd be same either way
4.  bad for gyne and can lead to it
5.  no but distrust anything with hormones as part of production.
6.  sort of doubt they'd help gyne but defer to others on that.
* a man is more than a body will ever tell
* if it screws up your life the same, is there really any such thing as "mild" gyne?
