Hi, I need some advise guys.

I work with a friend of mind and we both bodybuild together. I have know him for four years now and he always ask me why I don't wear small shirts or tank tops when we go out to clubs. Since I join this forum i have been feeling better about myself and i feel like telling him so he can help he look for a good ps. I don't know if he is going to make jokes about my gyno or if he will understand and still work out with me. Help what should i do? Anyone had the same problem i have or just anyone wanting to give info write back. :-[ :-[

  • Gyne free, is the way to be!
Tell you parents, cause you are gonna see someone to stay with you for a day or so after surgery. Or a very good, trust worthy, understanding friend.
$2,800 = Freedom!

Let him joke, my best buddy does. I only had to tell him once that it really wasn't funny (well, it sorta is ) and he quit. He is also the one who noticed it before I did. The issue of wearing a tight shirt....maybe not at school or work, but when you are out on the weekends, try going shoppping or some other activity, and watch people. You will find that most people won't even notice, and unless they are stopping and gawking at you, I wouldn't be too concerned. I made a point to point that out to my buddy...no more mention now. Now it is his issue, and not mine. After all, what guy wants to be accused of looking at your chest? LOL <veg> It challenges them with their own fears.
I did go to Target ad bought a couple of compression shirts in the underwear section of the men's depart... They don't really compress a lot, but actually smooth out the high points, making it look like you've been working out a bit. The shirts are cheap enough, so that may be a consideration for you. I got them to work in the office, as women seem to give you funny looks when yours are perkier than theirs. JK

Do you (did you) take anabolic steroids? Does your lifting buddy take them?

Tell him if your confident you can trust him, if not just leave it.  I told my best friend the week before my op and it was great, no jokes nothing, just asked me what the op would be like and such.  After my op my friend came down and helped me out for the first couple of days, going to shop for me etc.
Surgery performed by Mr Paul Levick, 17/02/05. I am here to help.

No I haven't tried ROIDs and not plannig on it. We have only tried pro-steroids(m1t), but I had gyno when I started gaining weight at the age of 12 y/o and they still look the same.I am trying to save money starting from this pay period and my surgury year will be 2007-2008ish. Well I have made up my mind to tell him, and if he makes fun I will pimp slap him and never talk to him again. LOL  Just kidding I think he won't make fun, because we are both adults here. I will let you'll now in about 5 hours. ; :-/ ;)

Don't worry....most people are more understanding about us having surgery than we think they will be. It was difficult for me to tell people at work also. Not one person laughed or made any rude remarks about having Gyne surgery ( to me anyways ). If your buddy does make fun of your Gyne and wanting to have corrective surgery, then he's not much of a friend :-/.

Thanks Bumbu, that was very well said. I did indeed  tell my friend about my gyno problem and he did not believe me at first until i told him take a pinch. I must say after that he was a believer LOL. I told him what my plans were, and he said go for it homeboy. In fact, that made me more motivated to take this step forward in life. Dr. Bermant here I come........  ;D

I_hate,

I told my training partner about how I felt insecure about my chest.  That was 10 years ago, before I even knew the work gynecomastia. He was very supportive. Good to hear your buddy was supportive.  I think as long as you tell the right person, you have no problems.  It's when you tell some people and they say nothing to your face, but tell everyone else. That's embarrassing.

Good job having the balls to tell your friend
