Hi Everyone

I just added my 2 wks post op pictures.  You can view them at

I'm starting to have concerns about there not being TOO MUCH improvement, although I've been told that a lot of it is swelling that will take a couple of months to go away.  I appreciate any feedback.

Surgery looks great.  Your first week there definitely seems to be improvement from pre-op, and even in week 2 it looks a bit swollen but still much better than pre-op.  Remember, Gynecomastia can't return that fast, there is no way that gland and fat built back up in the matter of 1 week.  It has to be swelling.

When did you take off your compression vest?  It seems everyone heals in different ways... some don't get any swelling, some get swelling after 1 week then it goes away soon, some get swelling after 1 week and it doesn't go away for a few months.  You'll be fine.

The results are just fine ! Don't worry, the final result will be perfect in some weeks. Give it some time !

I went and saw my doctor again, to express my concern.  My right one is definitely bigger than the left one, and feels harder underneath (around the nipple area).  I'm still wearing my compression vest and he's asked me to wear it for 3 months.  He said it's swelling, but it could ALSO be some excess fat tissue left in there  >:(

But he says I have to wait for at least 6 months, at which point we can decide if I will need a touch up  >:(  I'd hate to go through this all over again once I'm completely healed.  Maybe I'm just being too paranoid at this point, but I can't help myself  :(  Has anyone here ever had to go for seconds?

OK, today (day 15) it feels like my right side is hardening even more (especially around my nipple area) and is clearly bigger than my left side.  Any medical advice/opinion?  What could it be? Would swelling feel that hard or is it definitely fat/tissue?

This isn't medical advice by any means, but by lurking in almost every single thread on this board, it would sound to me as though that's probably scar tissue hardening up.  Are you massaging at all?  That's supposed to help scar tissue break down.

Thanks for the advice Calg-puffed.  Does scar tissue go away after a while or is it possible that it hardens and stays there permanently?  Thanks

I'm 8mths post-up and the scar tissue is still hard and causing my nipple to indent. This sucks because my puffy nipple was my major concern. Oh well, going into surgery there are risks you must accept. Keep massaging, it may breakdown. Everybody heals differently!!

As far as I know it's supposed to breka down over time.  There are probably a few people on this forum who could better answer this question tho... anyone?
