I've heard people talking about getting a blood test to determine whether you will need surgery or not. (is it an endocrinologist i need?)

To clarify - can a blood test say if you will need surgery or not? ie: whether your gyn will go away over time or never at all? It's just when I spoke to a GP he said there's no way of knowing if it will stay or go away, but it seems like some people have been saying differently.

Does it depend on what kind of gyn you suffer from? I've been told to wait to see if it will go away... but how long am I supposed to wait? The lack of reliable information is the worst thing...

it's not about whether you need it or not, you can probably decide that for yourself, seeing an endo is about telling whether your hormone ratios etc. are level enough that it would be less likely to come back on you again.  does not depend on what kind of gyne.  if you were lucky, like in your first year or so, maybe it could even help lessen it, but not once you head into the 2-3 year range.  more important is just age, once you're out of late teens, the prognosis would probably be better.
* a man is more than a body will ever tell
* if it screws up your life the same, is there really any such thing as "mild" gyne?
