Hello,

I would like to get a hormonal profile done, so I need to find an endocrinologist specialising in andrology/reproductive endocrinology. I am happy to get this done privately to avoid the delays, time, and hassle of the wonderful NHS. Can anyone give any recommendations in Midlands / South East England?

Thanks

I would have thought your GP would be able to refer you  to a private consultant near you?

Have you looked on the BMI health care website, they have hospitals all over and have all sorts of doctors working with them,

Hi,

I would recommend Malcolm Carruthers who is a world leading Andrologist.  He works out of Harley Street so doesn’t come cheap but he really knows his stuff having written books on the subject one of which is the renowned Testosterone Revolution.

I see him on a 6 monthly check up basis now, having been recommended by a couple of other users of this site.  One significant advantage is that you get your bloods done first at a lab around the corner before 10am and then go back for the consultation with Carruthers sometime after 3pm and he has the results there in front of him.  With many Endos you can wait a week or more for the lab results.

I’m unsure of his current costs but I paid about £600 2 years ago for the 1st consultation.  This included taking a full medical history, physical check up including examination and ultrasound of my testicles, a huge range of blood and urine tests and of course the second consultation after the lab results came back in the afternoon.  Follow up consultations are cheaper but currently seem to be about £425.

If you are interested and want to get an up to date price range then he works out of:

Hello Time_to_fix_it,

Thats great, thanks very much for this information. I'll arrange a consultation with Malcolm Carruthers. It's particularly convenient that you can get the blood test results the same day.
