Hey all,

This is my first time to post, but I like coming to this site because it makes me feel less alone.

I have a question regarding post-op:  I am all in line for the surgery, but I suffer from obtrusive sleep apnea, meaning I cannot sleep on my back because my air-pipe gets blocked because the muscles and tissue in the back of my throat relax and obstruct the air-way.

I know that sleeping on your back is a must after the surgery, and if I can just figure out a way around this problem there is no reason for me not to get the surgery and put this whole mess behind me forever.  But I can't just not sleep until my doctor gives me the go-ahead to sleep on my stomach again, ya know?  HELP!

Any suggestions?

Sleep in a sitting position. That seems to be the easiest resolution...

Are you on a C-Pap? The reason I ask is I use a C-Pap and am able to sleep on my side or back.
