varicocele and gynecomastia

Hi, i have just found out about this amezing forum and would like to get some information from all helping folks over here..

I have been diagnosed with major vericocele on left and minor on right testicle..after sperm test etc. urologist has recommended me not to go for vericocele surgery as counts are Ok..so one good news for me 

However, when i searched further on web..i came to know that  vericocele  can cause gynecomastia..I initially used to think that my large chest was because of fat being stored there...but now i am almost sure that it is gynecomastia...

My urologist did not ask me to go for any hormon related test etc...based upon my googling..my understanding is it is cause because of low testosterone levels...please let me know if my chest will grow again if i undergo surgery as i will anyways have low testosteron levels...

I am 25 years old and have vericocele from the age of ~14...thanks in advance for all your help..

very interesting info...I have a varicocele since about 10 years ago, although I have had mild gynecomastia since my mid teens.  (I'm now 35).

I just had surgery and never even considered the possibility of these things being linked!  

I am definitely going to discuss this with my doctor.

Not sure what to tell you regarding whether or not your chest would grow again after surgery.  This needs further investigation but I can assure you I'm going to be searching for some answers on this....

Thanks for the response rob..so did you had a vericocele surgery or gynecomastia surgery..i suppose vericocele as you say that you had mild gynecomastia....
please keep me posted on your findings...

Whoops!  I meant that I just had gynecomastia surgery.  (just over 2 weeks ago).

I didn't get treatment for the varicocele yet but I am looking into a treatment called embolization to avoid surgery.
