I have been diagnosed with Hypothryroidism for awhile now. Is there anyway that would be the cause of my Gynecomastia?  If so, Would my Insurance cover my Gyne surgery?

Probably not.

The problem is that the Gynecomastia would be looked at as a harmless symptom of the Hypothyroidism. The Gynecomastia is not, in itself, pathologic.

Insurance underwriters are not stupid, they know very well how to get around a situation like this.

If you had some kind of pathology, the surgery would likely be covered. The problem with this scenario is that they may send you to a general surgeon or a tumor clinic where you would not have a qualified cosmetic surgeon.

The insurance company is NOT on your side.
