Hi all, not sure if this the right place for this new post so apologies if its wrong.
I'm writing this from the UK 1 week after bilateral lipo for my gyn. I had harboured the problem since my early teens until now at 35. Thats over 20 years of embarrassment and I needed to do something about it - the time had come. I saw a private specialist and things moved pretty quickly. I have a great partner  who fully understood my feelings and is very supportive. I am wearing my compression vest and I am generally really pleased with the results so far and the thought of just being able to wear a t shirt of choice really keeps me going. I am feeling lots of different emotions particularly as I've hidden away my emotions about it and laughed it off for over 20 years. Now I can even talk about it - wow! I feel so much happier already and a weight off my mind (and my chest!!) I am still pretty sore and swollen so I'm looking forward for the swelling to be reduced, but anything will be better than what I was like before.
It is my first day at work tomorrow so I'm a little apprehensive about wearing the vest under my shirt but, ive come this far and nothing is getting in my way now.
Thanks for reading and I wish you all well on your journey's. keep the faith!
Thanks
R

Congratulations. I guess one place is as good as another for posting good news.

We are well aware that there are a lot of guys lurking who never sign in. Hopefully you found the information you needed here.

First day at work over wearing the compression vest. No one could tell I had it on and no one commented either which was good. Looking forward to getting the vest off and being able to sleep properly at night.
Cheers guys
Keep the faith, R

Hiya guys,
Well its now been 4 weeks since my surgery and everyday just keeps getting better and better. I enjoy having the couple of hours per night without the vest although I leave it on during the night and day. My confidence  levels have improved and now I can't wait to go shopping for some summer t shirts  - that in itself is a massive step! My surgeon said I had moderate to severe G and it was v bad , plus I am overweigh (however i am making progress with this). so Im realistic about the end result. I am very pleased so far though and it may take a few more months for the swelling to come down. Experienced forum members on here will be sick of people saying" I wish i'd done this years ago" but its true, however Im still young enough (35) to enjoy the result. What a journey, however in the first few days after the op I was disappointed but hat soon went. My surgeon has been superb, supportive and encouraging.
It has personally taken me a lot to finally go to see a specialist and overcome the embarrassment of going to the Docs, but if i can do it, you can if you want to! I have been walking round happier than I have been since I can remember.

Sorry for my essay and keep the faith guys!
R
