Bad Scars after Gyno surgery

Hi. I had really bad puffy nipples/gyno since I was like 12. Worse on the right side. I am now 20 and finally had gyno surgery. I am about a week post op and my nipples look nothing like any of the ones i've seen on here. My scars are huge and my nipple seems to be pulled down. Is this normal and if not, is there anything I can do at this point?

At one week post op, it is much much too early to make any decisions about the results of your surgery.

Best to consult with your surgeon and give it many months of time before reaching any conclusion.  Most of the time, everything settles down and heals well.

I would second Dr. Jacobs in recommending patience and consultation with your surgeon...but especially patience.  The areola heals well in most cases over time.

Its really very early and that's about all one can say at this point the bruising is minimal in your case.Sit tight and let everything settle.

That's very reassuring. I'm going to be patient and let the scars heal for a couple of months before I judge the outcome of the surgery. Thank you for the advice. I appreciate it.
