Too late to massage?

I had an un-successful operation on the NHS in 2007. The surgeon managed to convince me only lipo was needed even though I insisted there is gland there.

Anyways, it basically did nothing to my chest but when I went for a consultation with a capable surgeon in 2009, he said there was scar tissue there which would make it slightly harder for him.

I still havent been able to afford the fee yet, but in the mean time is it worth massaging the chest now? Will that help get rid of the scar tissue or is it too late?

In my experience in cases like yours failure is due to lack of resection of glandular tissue. Massage will not reduce glandular tissue.

It's probably a bit late for massage to impact the scar tissue in your chest.  It won't hurt to massage it, and if the tissues are stiff, it may loosen them up a bit, but it's more likely that you just need surgical intervention.

wish I would have stuck with my guns and got a second opinion but the surgeon said would delay my op by months.

Do you think the scar tissue will effect my future surgery? Hard to answer without seeing I suppose, but in general does it have an effect?

As a general rule, the presence of scar tissue (from a prior operation) always makes any subsequent operation more difficult and less predictable.  That is why it is always emphasized to get the best surgeon you can for your initial (and hopefully only) operation.  Any subsequent operation is always playing "catch-up."

That being said, if you do need secondary or revision surgeon, it would be best to go to an acknowledged expert in the field.
