You could use UnderArmor or something like that if you don't want to wear the vest anymore, but you still feel that it would be helpful.  Recommendation is 4 - 6 weeks, but patients usually can't stand the things, so I let them stop at 4 weeks.

It's not that I don't want to wear it, I have no problem wearing it if it will actually help contract the skin. The question is whether wearing it for more than a month is actually beneficial, because most surgeons on this site don't recommend it for more than a month.

There is not much benefit beyond 4 - 6 weeks, but between 4 and 6 weeks, there may be some benefit if you have significant pre-existing laxity.

Each case is unique. What we as surgeons recommend is based on our experience. There are always outliers, people who heal a bit slower have looser skin than typical etc.Preoperatively typically I will assume the patient will be average but I do not know for sure how the patient will responed until after the surgery and adjust the treatment accordingly.

My usual recommendation is to wear the garment 24/7 for a minimum of four weeks.  If you can extend it for another two weeks, it cannot hurt and it might possibly be beneficial.  After six weeks, it is doubtful that any help will come with wearing the garment any longer.
