Patient position during surgery

Is gynecomastia surgery always performed with the patient lying flat? That what I remember when they put me under, laying flat.

I am likely going in for minor revision surgery. My problem is some remaining under and side moob remaining on the right side. I am unbalanced right now. However, when I lay flat - my chest seems all over flat (both sides). Standing or sitting is where it shows up on the right.

How does a surgeon address this?

I remember one surgeon her a while ago who discussed examining the patient sitting up after he was done to see how it looked?

Preoperative surgical marking of the patient is done with the patient in a sitting position.  All of the areas to be treated are clearly marked at that time, and the marks help guide the surgeon during the procedure.  Many times I will elevate the head of the surgical bed while the patient is under anesthesia to check the chest with the patient in a sitting position.
