skin lotion makes nipples erect?

sometimes when my skin becasue dry I use lotion to hydrate my skin

when applying the lotion I notice then when I rub it around my chest area my nipples stand ercet for around 5 minutes

why is that?

I would go with the moisturizing of the lotion. It makes the dry skin wet and nourishes the skin stimulating the skin cells most likely making your nipples erect. Just like ice, cold water touching and stimulating the nipples.

I suspect it's the touching that's doing it, not the lotion.  You can find out by applying the lotion, but not using lotion.  In other words, touch yourself like you do when applying the lotion and see if you get the same effect.

The reason for this reaction could be as a result of the physical stimulation, the cold due to evaporation of water from the ointment or even due to an astringent in the lotion.  The reaction is probably normal and nothing to cause concern.  

It is important to realize that prior to puberty, male and female breasts are essentially identical.  Equally sensitive etc.

I suspect you have many, more important, things to worry about.
