Hello Everyone,

I would like to introduce myself to the community on this board. I've come to this site with a clear determination to educate myself with as much information that is available about what has happened to my body.

Here is my story:

28, M, 184lbs, 14%bf, train hard 4-5 days a week, eat clean. Decided to use AAS (Anabolic Steroids) and was taking Testosterone C @ 420mg per week for 5 weeks (Was supposed to take it for 15 weeks). I stopped due to sensitive/ puffy nipples. Was taking an AI to keep E in control but to no avail. I'm currently in the 3rd week of my PCT (Post Cycle Therapy). This consists of Tamoxifen @ 20mg everyday and Clomid @ 50mg everyday. I noticed that my chest was fuller than I had ever seen it and my nipples were remaining puffy (I later learned why). I made an appointment with an Endocrinologist because I knew something wasn't right, I could swear that I was feeling things forming in my chest, and she confirmed what I dreaded hearing, breast tissue had formed behind my nipples. Luckily, my gyno is no more than 5-6 weeks old so my Endo and I are planning on finishing my PCT meds and if things don't clear up within 2 weeks after those meds (or noticeable changes occur)we will try a more aggressive approaches to combating this.

I've made up my mind that I will research as much as possible and give myself one year before I declare the gyno irreversible. At that point I will search for a plastic surgeon and shell out the $8k.

I've read articles upon articles of Tamoxifen and Raloxifen being used to treat Gyno with success. Has anyone done this or can shed some light on what has happened? I feel like an outsider in the community, a man who must hide behind thick shirts to avoid eye contact with my chest. I've never been more self-conscious in my life and I'm just glad there is a place I can come to where people have the same issue.

Any input or advice is much appreciated.
Again, thank you for reading my post.

I was touched by your story -- have heard it many times.  Unfortunately, taking steroids (without absolute cooperation and monitoring by an endocrinologist) often ends up with hormone imbalances which lead to the development of gynecomastia.

You are correct in seeking help with an endocrinologist -- and perhaps, since it is early, some help may be garnered with appropriate medication.  Ultimately, you may need surgery to remove everything, but best to wait a minimum of 6-12 months to allow your body to settle down and stabilize.  And perhaps you will be lucky and have the breast tissue diminish in size.

Oh -- stay away from the steroids in the future -- it isn't worth it.

Hello Dr. Jacobs,

Thank you for welcoming me. I will be moving this to the appropriate thread. Have you heard of any success stories with Tamoxifen or Raloxifene?

Best regards,

I have heard of some successes with these drugs -- but only when used early in the entire process-- and it is very idiosyncratic -- some guys are helped and others not.

Good luck!

Gyne typically comes after the exogenous androgens clear the system. Whats left over in your blood is the excess estrogen from your cycle and low levels of natural test. This period of estrogen dominance is what leads to gynecomastia. This can be mitigated by taking an aromtaste inhibitor during cycle and after cycle during pct. If your gyne developed while taking nolvadex/clomid your product was bunk.

The only advisable solution would be to continue nolvadex for a period of time. Hopefully your natural testosterone will come online and the existing estrogen will clear.

To Dr. Jacobs-

I understand that the results can be peculiar using these meds, but my question to you is, Do you know what dose and for what duration of time these medications have been used to treat gyne in its early stages? Thank you for your reply.

To Xelnaga13-

Thank you for your reply. I know my products weren't bunk because this was all purchased through an online TRT Clinic. I made a foolish mistake. I'm hoping this excess estrogen will clear. Thank you.

Sorry -- I cannot recommend drugs or dosages to someone who I don't know and who is not my patient -- that would legally establish a doctor-patient relationship, which I cannot do.

Dr. Jacobs-

I realize that my question was a little out of line. I apologize.

To the OP, I'd offer that you incorporate into your PCT not only the drugs but also get SLEEP! And a lot of it! I don't know what your daily routine is like, but sleep will definitely up your natural T levels. I'd also avoid stress and perhaps take up meditation (as simple as taking a walk in the morning and/or night). Anabolic processes are optimised in a state of rest, and impeded by stressors.

You might want to pull back or altogether refrain from training during this recuperative period, as training can be a drastic stressor on your body. I know how hard it can be to face that decision, but right now your objective should be to restore normal T levels. Some temporary loss of muscle or strength will be made up for in the long run by more T secretion.

Rest your body and mind.

There's a guy on YouTube, Elliott Hulse, you should check him out. His videos touch on this subject frequently. One recent one that comes to mind is "Muscle Building Cardio?", but there's a lot of other videos in which he elaborates on the subject. An older one is "How to Increase Sex Drive and Testosterone Naturally".

I just remembered that Elliott Hulse did a few videos on Gyno. Worth checking out "Can I get rid of Gyno" and "Why do I still have Man Boobs".

Jacobi-

Thank you for responding to my post. I have taken about 4 weeks off from training and I've just now started to incorporate it back into my life. I literally went from 5 days a week 1.5hrs a day weight training to nothing. I'm slowly creeping back into it. The worst part is my gyno is still in the development process. I asked my endocrinologist if I could return to workout and she said yes, but moderately. That of which I am doing. I will definitely look at those videos as well. Thank you.

I'm glad to hear that you'll look at those videos, he's definitely worth looking at insofar as your condition is concerned as well as for your general well-being.

I cannot stress enough the importance for you to get sleep and avoid stress (psychological and physiological). I believe meditation will also help you, which can be (often should be) as simple as taking a slow walk for an hour in the morning and/or evening, breathing deeply. Deep breathing is key. As Elliott would say, "Breathe into your balls."

I hate to sound like a fanatic of the guy, but he's been a positive influence on my life just from watching his videos, and I truly believe his information will help you.
