What are the underlying causes of lipomastia

Hello Docs,

I shown my condition to a local endocrinologist. She says that it is adipose tissue that has accumulated on my chest.

Please note that I have very minimal fat storage on my stomach(I am a male).

What could be the cause of excess fat diposition on chest? She also said something like "..residual estrogen .." is stored in my chest area.

I am going to get mamography done to confirm that its purely  lipomastia. Can lipomastia be cured through medicines? Are those types of medicines hormone altering/moduling? I am scared they have irreversible side-effects.
