I had my surgery over three weeks ago now. I had two incisions on each side: one in the nipple and one near the armpit; all of which have healed. My chest is now going through the up and down period but seems to be healing nicely. I don't want to jeopardise the healing and have not used any roll-on antiperspirant. However, with my job, I do a lot of moving about and would prefer to wear some. Do you think it will have any effect on the healing?

I always qualify responses like these with the caveat of check with your surgeon.I do not see any problem with an antiperspirant at this time based on the information you have provided. The roll on would not be anywhere near the incisions which should be closed at this point anyways.

Thanks for taking the time to respond to my query. Yes, I have been using anti-perspirant now and it has been just fine.  :)

This is a good question and one that is often asked.  I feel that if the incisions are closed and no oozing of fluid then it should be safe.  However, if reaction occurs to the skin or incision then wait a little longer.  Your PS is a great source as well. Good Luck.
