A little background about myself. I am an expert water faster, which means 2-3 times a year, I will go 1 week without food(only water) to detox the body, it is very healthy and super safe, but thats besides the point, after the 7 days, I generally drop 7 lbs of pure body fat +3 lbs of water weight, which I then slowly gain back over 3-4 months to re-reach my baseline weight, as weight loss is the not the goal of the water fast.


I have heard that surgeons do a better job on lower bodyweight patients, would it be best to get the procedure a few days after my usual water fast in order to get the best results, or would the results look bad and disordered after regaining the 7 lbs? Please help!
My usual bodyfat is 13-15%, and it drops to 11% after the fasting period. Age is 23, Height is 5'10.

I'm no expert at fasting, but you should know your body best. Prolong fasting puts alot of stress on your body and vital organs. You are basically shocking your system to go into lock down mode to drain whatever reserves it has to sustain - that's not only fat storage but also muscle mass. Having said that, I highly advise against putting your body into more stress, such as going into an invasive surgery right after your fasting period. You would want the most out of your body to recover after the surgery, so it's best you enter into one when you feel like your body is stable from fluctuated changes.
If your concern is weight loss before the surgery, the best way to go is to eat clean and work out. There's no way around that. 
Just curious, how do you measure your body fat percentage? The most accurate method is through high tech machines that does a complete scan on your body and measure your bone density/muscle/fat content. Losing about 2% body fat won't significantly affect your surgery, as gynecomastia surgeries are mostly aimed at removing the glandular tissues around your nipples (which are not fat to begin with)

I measure it with a caliper. Im a lean person so it works for accurately on me. Fasting doesnt affect muscle mass at all btw, thats one of the reasons its safe. I guess my question is, is it better to get the surgery 12% bf or 15%?
