Flexible Spending Account for surgery?

I was wondering if any of you have set aside money in a Flexible Spending Account and used it for gyne surgery?  i've given up on insurance paying for any of it, but am wondering if they will let me pay for it out of an FSA so I could at least get the tax benefits.

What exactly, is a 'Flexible Spending Account'?

some insurance companies have these accounts as part of their plans.  my provider, aetna has one such plan.

basically, you can put up to a certain amount of money into this account, and use it for medical related expenses not paid for by insurance.  this includes lasik surgery, Rx and doctor visit co-pays, etc.  basically, you're still paying for the items, however you can write off money spent from an FSA on your taxes, so you will receive a tax benefit.

i figure if i can save even a bit on taxes on my gyne surgery, it's better than nothing!  but they may have restrictions on 'cosmetic' surgeries, not sure as i have yet to research fully.
