I have fairly severe gyne and would need the equivalent of a mastectomy to make them look normal, but I hear that mastecomies, at least in women, can leave the chest feeling numb. Can you discuss this issue?

On another topic, a couple of people I know say don't do any surgery, because I would just never be satisfied with the results and would want to do it again, a never-ending cycle. Considering all the variables, what percentage of men who get surgery are happy with the results?

Btw, I am 61, and got gyne from taking spironolactone.

The double incision mastectomy with a free nipple graft is the most common surgery for your situation.  Sensation returns to normal over time except the nipple that is removed and replaced as a skin graft.  Men who undergo this procedure are extremely happy and in my practice 100% which is very rare for any surgical procedure.
