I dread the day when someone asks me what my favorite song is. Even genre.

I like everything, but I'm not much into classical or death metal. Growing up (which I'm probably still doing...) I always seemed to gravitate towards easy listening or soft rock, but nowadys I seem to bounce between genres that were familiar to me way back when. Don't get me wrong, I like contemporary music too, I play plenty of it and if I listen to radio it is normally a youth channel. I love the weird looks I get from much younger people when I compete with them with knowledge of who is popular now.

Today my time I was YouTubing some local classics fom the 80's and happened across this suggested playlist. New Wave Alternative apparently. As I type this I'm playing it for the 3rd time today! NEW WAVE ALTERNAT!VE.. MIX VOL 24 - YouTube

I grew up on country and classical, so I don't mind listening to it at all.
My personal choice is psychedelic Rock, and my favorite is of course Pink Floyd.
I am kind of not the average Floyd listener because I prefer the older ( Sid Barrett ) stuff. After "The Wall" and "Wish you were here", I really didn't like much of their stuff anymore.
Grateful dead was nice, The Who, The Doors, The Byrds, etc...
They are all on my listening list as well.

I like a lot of 80s stuff *makes sense as I was born during it *
But as far as modern stuff I love FFDP and recently found I like Tom Mac Donald

Simon and Garfunkle cover by Disturbed.

David Draiman's vocals never fail to give goosebumps.

Ah, this song sums up the untimely departure of my wife to pursue her "own life", as mine found it's own changes.

Usually something of the Jim Croce type of sound or 80s and 2000s hip hop

This song is a real 'tear jerker' for me.
The lyrics just really hit home.
